Poorly Repaired Roads

For 20 years my wife and I have enjoyed the smooth roads we love about Pinehurst. But recently we have driven on roads we use only occasionally, namely Monticello and St. Andrews Drive.

We found both are full of cuts made to install utility connections for both new and existing homes.

The various contractors have filled the cuts with replacement asphalt with little or no care to making the repair as smooth as the rest of the road. It appears no inspection by the village has been done to ensure a level repair.

Want to experience what I am writing about? Just travel the two blocks on McDonald Road West from N.C. 5 to Frye Road. The recent cuts made on McDonald were done for the village by its own contractors, and no final inspection appears to have been made by the village.

If Pinehurst had followed up after the digging was completed, then McDonald West would not feel like a washboard.

We wonder why the village doesn’t appear to have an inspector to oversee the destruction followed by the unsatisfactory repair of our roads.
