I found it astonishing that you put on the front page a story concerning the failure of the Moore County school system (“Businesses Mount School Effort,” Jan. 16). Moore County teachers are paid by the state, and the buildings have been paid for by the net taxpayers.

What are the millions and millions of dollars Moore spends on schools used for but items like toilet paper and copy paper?

Reread your story and put Cracker Barrel in place of schools. See how silly the story becomes. Do not worry, Moore kids will be bailed out by “Businesses Mount School Effort” with charter schools.

I am already loving the Republican (veto proof) majority.
