The Moore County Choral Society (MCCS) presents a wine gala to benefit the organization, Thursday, Feb. 28, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The Fresh Market will close its doors for the evening in honor of what has become a highly anticipated annual event. Enjoy an array of delectable hors d'oeuvres including prime rib, shrimp cocktail, distinctive cheeses and more.
The evening will feature wonderful wine pairings with tasting notes for wine enthusiasts. Special discounts will also be available on the evening's featured wines.
Founded in 1982, The Fresh Market is committed to the communities in which it does business, and its employees enthusiastically support local organizations that are important to the stores' communities and customers.
"We are grateful to The Fresh Market for their support of MCCS and so many other worthwhile organizations in our area," says Martha DeVault, co-chair of the event. "Last year's gala was a great success, and we look forward to another exciting event."
Committed to preserving and advancing the choral art form, MCCS prepares and presents notable choral music performed at a high standard of excellence; promotes and shares choral art through education and public outreach; and celebrates the rich heritage of choral music for the enrichment of our community.
The society, now in its 38th season, provides two scholarships annually to area music students. Recipients of the 2013 scholarships will be announced at the Spring Classical Concert, Sunday, April 28, at 4 p.m. in Robert E. Lee Auditorium at Pinecrest High School.
The generosity of The Fresh Market allows for 100 percent of the proceeds from wine gala ticket sales to benefit MCCS.
Gala tickets are $25 each and are limited to 300 attendees. Tickets are now on sale through MCCS choral members, Gladys Wade at (910) 949-3359, Caroline Ivey at (910) 215-0730, and at The Fresh Market.
