The Sandhills Wedding Expo will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at National Golf Club, One Royal Troon Drive, Pinehurst.

SMS Theater

The Southern Middle School Theatre Arts Group will present two one-act shows Friday, Jan. 25, and Saturday, Jan. 26, at Southern Middle School.

Shows start at 7 p.m. and tickets are $3. This year, SMS Theatre will present a drama and comedy to follow up last year's highly successful farce "The Greek Mythological Olympiaganza."

"Virtual Family" explores what could happen if we rely heavily on electronic devices for living.

Through "Don't Blame Me, I'm just the Playwright," the audience follows two new writers trying to stage their first production as producers, directors and other assistants continually change the original script.

Both shows will run on both nights. Proceeds go to the Theatre Arts Group.

Shows will also be presented at the North Carolina Theatre Conference Middle School Play Festival on March 16 at Pinecrest High School.
