State Employees' Credit Union (SECU), in partnership with the State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC), recently wrapped up its 11th and most successful season of selling theme park tickets - topping $4 million in sales, a news release said.

Through the seasonal program, members purchased nearly 122,000 discount tickets from SECU's 245 statewide branches to area theme parks in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. This year's sales surpassed last year's total by more than $800,000, the release said.

The credit union partners with SEANC annually, serving as the primary outlet for SEANC and Credit Union members to purchase theme park tickets from April through September at significant cost savings. This year, members were able to take advantage of discounts of up to $25 off individual adult gate admission prices.

As part of the ticket consignment program, proceeds from ticket sales help support SEANC's mission to represent, protect and improve the rights and benefits of state employees of North Carolina, the primary field of membership for SECU. The discount theme park ticket program is very popular among member groups and continues to offer family fun and entertainment to members at more affordable prices.

"SECU is pleased to partner with SEANC to provide convenience and good value for members and their families to enjoy local amusement parks and attractions throughout the park season," said Leigh Brady, senior vice president of SECU's education services department. "The growth of sales year after year certainly reflects the popularity of this program, but surpassing $4 million in sales was well beyond our expectations. We are thrilled that so many families were able to benefit from the discount ticket pricing."

SECU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its nearly 1.8 million members. SECU has been providing the employees of the state of North Carolina and their families with consumer financial services for 75 years through 245 branch offices, 1,100 automatic teller machines, contact centers and a website, www.nc secu.org.
