First Casualty Insurance Group has successfully wrapped up its second matching can food drive, company President Ann Wooten Kunce announced.
With the generous support of Moore County businesses and residents, FCIG was able to collect 2,553 cans. FCIG matched each can (and then some) for a total of 9,245 cans donated.
The cans were donated to the Sandhills Branch of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina (6,754 cans), BackPack Pals (587 cans), Animal Advocates of Moore County (615 cans), Moore Humane Society (907 cans) and Sandhills Animal Rescue League (382 cans).
FCIG thanks the following businesses, schools and child care facilities for supporting the food drive by serving as drop-off locations for donations:
Aberdeen Elementary, Aberdeen Primary, Aberdeen Supply Company, Animal Health Center, Cold Stone Creamery, Country Kids Day Care, Gold's Gym, The Lunch Box that Rocks, Moe's Southwest Grill, PetSmart, Pinecrest High School, Sandhills Feed Supply Company, Seven Lakes Winery, Star 102.5, Small Animal Emergency Services, Sonlight Child Care, Southern Middle School, Union Pines High School, Watch My Wag, West Pine Elementary, and Whispering Pines Animal Hospital.
"All of us at FCIG very much appreciate the support of local businesses, schools and individuals in Moore County who supported this food drive," Kunce said. "At FCIG, we believe giving back to the communities we serve is very important, and we are honored to be able to help our less fortunate friends and neighbors this holiday season."
