Southern Pines is fortunate to have a gentleman who is well-qualified to fulfill the position of chief of police.

That person is Bob Temme, who now is acting as interim chief. Mr. Temme has a stellar background in law enforcement, has an excellent working relationship with the current police personnel, and has proven himself to be an asset to the town of Southern Pines as the Police Department’s community coordinator.

I believe the Southern Pines Town Council would do well to cease its expenditure of tax funds in its efforts to locate a new chief and instead look inside the Police Department and appoint Bob Temme as our new chief of police.
