The offerings by Fred Wolferman and others from the Republican bevy of contributors to this newspaper negatively comment about President Obama and now Hillary Clinton are floundering in their own misery, which has been deepened by the 2012 re-election of Obama.
Wolferman charges that Hillary’s recent concussion is alleged, and I wonder if his sense of decency is eroded. That reference is disgusting, untruthful and a total fabrication.
The medical staff of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Dr. Geoff Manley, a neurosurgeon at the University of California, are so much more qualified to discuss and evaluate the situation than is Wolferman.
It has been suggested that some critics of Hillary may have more intellect than a earthworm, but that is insulting to the earthworm. The concept, from 1588, of “ignoratio elenchi” is a perfect description of Wolferman’s attack, and his attempt to question whether or not a Hispanic candidate would be able to find New Hampshire is a pitiful attempt to vilify the Hispanics and other minorities. Essentially the concept is “ignorance of proof,” a fallacy in logic and ungrounded.
And boy, do some people have nothing to do in their life. Mr. McKenzie is worried that the president must remove his hands from his pockets to create a particular image.
Perhaps we should worry about his words and actions instead. Then we can check his hands. Did I really read about that concern, or was it another of the continuing attempts to tarnish the president?
Just a reminder to the masses; President Obama is being inaugurated in a few days, and his second term ends in 2016.

To be a right winger in America today is to lovingly nurse a bevy of resentments over perceived insults and a bruised feeling of perpetual outrage based on the absurd yet unshakable conviction that Those (Undeserving) People have it better than they do. In the right wings mind, that justifies any kind of boorish discourse and uncivilized behavior, even the very same behaviors they claim to deplore. They're angry, miserable people who complain bitterly about how awful the world is, no matter how good they themselves have it. They'e convinced, in the face of all evidence, that everything's horrible and inevitably getting worse. I really don't know what keeps some of them from putting one of the guns they love so much to their own heads and escaping this horrible oppression they claim to be undergoing.

Great letter, Mr. VanHoover. The republican party, which lost every demographic except angry, old, white males, continues to chase their conspiract theories, and follow Rush and the other far right screechers down the path to oblivion.

Good letter. Most likely senario is that nothing will change in the next four years. The right will do their best to block everything the President and the more progressive members of Congress attempt and will will drag the country to the edge over every issue. Result: as a country we will bounce from crisis to crisis and be so preoccupied with trying to prevent disaster at the hands of the few that the many will be unable to put in place any coherent long term solutions to our many problems. Hope this is wrong but if the past is any predictor of the future that's what it looks like.

AFCHIEF, do you think you could convince Rush to lead your band of patriots out of this valley of doom and gloom? Instead of being all negative, why not become a positive force in getting this country back on track. Become the point man in drafting Rush in 2016. Your country needs you man!

JIMRUSS I don't even listen to Rush or care for him. Common sense dictates that our govt has a spending problem and the dumbass on both sides of the aisle cannot stop feeding the pork machine in Washington.
Hurricane relief measures contained in the Senate bill include:
$8 million to buy cars and equipment for the Homeland Security and Justice departments. • $150 million for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to dole out to fisheries in Alaska • $2 million for the Smithsonian Institution to repair museum roofs in DC. • $207 million for the VA Manhattan Medical Center • $3.3 million for the Plum Island Animal Disease Center • $1.1 million to repair national cemeteries • $58.8 million for forest restoration on private land. • $10.78 billion for public transportation, most of which is allocated to future construction and improvements, not disaster relief. • $17 billion for wasteful Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), a program that has become notorious for its use as a backdoor earmark program. • $197 million “to… protect coastal ecosystems and habitat impacted by Hurricane Sandy.” • $41 million to fix up eight military bases, including Guantanamo Bay, Cuba • $4 million for repairs at Kennedy Space Center in Florida
ALL YOU HEAR ALL THE TIME that money is a small amount and doesn't matter in the big scheme of things. WELL, how many BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of this garbage can we continue to give money too.

You are speaking of the Hillary that had 700+ FBI files, handled by 2 bumbs with records, on every politician and lobby mole in Washington during her "Uhumm husband's" tour of horse place and deceit. Certainly not the Hillary of the Rose Law Firm, that saw almost everyone but her go to jail or bargain out, with mysteriously disappearing documents that turned up later. And certainly not the Hillary "trapped" on the tarmac in Somalia under gunfire that did not bother the "eighth grader reading the poem". And like you "patriots" supported GW Bush??? First, there is a split between maybe urban voters and the rest of us like here in Moore County..we aren't the typical Obama crowd of struggling single mothers, gays, illegals...although they exist here...we have a basically waspish community..I think we on the conservative side have to realize that the above groups have never had much representation....and they have it now,..what is apparent to me comes from much deeper study of Obama and his regime-basically his plan is to have no opposition and the Republicans are in a state of confusion with no clear agenda-no matter; basically what it comes down is you get whatever you want, abortion, drugs, gay marriage, free birth control, et al with Obama with a homosexual agenda written all over the face of it...and the Republicans basically represent traditional values....and there is a 3rd group that could really care not so much for all the bible thumping that cant stand Obama's kool aid...I propose a new party called simply the New Republican Party that is socially neutral and fiscally conservative, and less concerned with the military domination of the world....sealed by an immigration policy that absolutely defends our borders and enforces the immigration policies of the USA...made by Congress and not executive order by a guy about the size of Barney Fife

and speaking of immigration policies according to many reports the Obama administration has opened the flood gates to immigration from certain countries, esp Saudi Arabia, Iran, Quatar, et al with Visas given with little screening...the justification we have great universities here... it is a bit unsettling for every gas station on the area to be manned by 9-11 look a-likes; even on the doors of Ft Bragg....in Whipering Pines I encountered an Arab with a beard looking just like a 9-11 soldier listening to a shouting Islamic sermon...how do I know this? I know some Arabic....and this just yards from an airport....I mean WTF is going on??? I feel Obama wants fairness in religion, ie a mosque in every community...this guy is evil people...wake up....and people wonder why the Klan existed...I mean if DR is comfortable with this you would have to wonder about DR...of course he is a down lo follower when it comes to politics....I know what DR would say, hey you are welcome here, freedom of religion, make yourself at home, you can even be gay here, enjoy...the next thing you know up comes the Mosque DR right there saying welcome friend...not me and I feel most of would say get the f out of here

Wow. Do you listen to yourselves? No wonder our state of being is in such shambles. Do you hear the bitterness and hatred you have for each other. Every day it is the same name calling, finger pointing that is happening in Congress. Which leads me to beieve that were any of you in Congress right now, we would be in the same shape. How about some objective ideas on issue resolution! Face it, unless you are Native American, everybody in this country we are all immigrants or of immigrant descent. So, with that out of the way, lets go back to working with each other's strengths to come up with some ideas thta serve the greater good. This selfich backbiting on here is like a dog chaing his tail. He gets tired, rests for a little then starts the same thing over again. I believe that most of you are so much better as human beings than you present on this blog. Let that part of you shine through. There is a passage in the bible that says man would eventually destroy himself with his own knowledge. Looks like who ever wrote that could really see into the future. Have a great day folks.

Speaking to the immigrant issue, so after Obama if you come in on tourist visa you can just stay-youll never be able to go forward and have any semblance of immigration that is ruled by law-immigration is the abode of congress especially the House, which is 'closest' to the people; to say we are all immigrants is meaningless. I was married to a Venenezolana and we waited years she even had to go back there for 18 months; all the years she was here as either a student or tourist she never stayed or broke any law; so why is it so hard for people here to just obey the law? WTF is the problem ; and then you get a bleeding heart like'mythreekids' saying we are immigrants-your point???? Because of the bleeding hearts this is why we are in a jam..just like Obama saying dont worry about the debt someone else will pay it

Do you not realize the marsh lands are natural buffers to hurricanes and preserving/ repairing them keeps costs down the next time we get hit by a big storm?
