The Pinehurst Police Department provided the following information.

Arrests

Dec. 31: John Dale, 81, four counts of assaulting an officer with a weapon, four counts of resisting an officer, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury, and discharging a weapon into a home or moving vehicle.

Jan. 4: Donald Edward Gillis, 30, of Carthage, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reports

Dec. 26: An employee of The Pine Crest Inn, 50 Dogwood Road, reported finding a handgun in the business parking lot.

Dec. 30: Female, 57, was reported to be missing from a home on Horse Creek Run. She was later found.

Jan. 2: An employee of BB&T, 15 Chinquapin Road, reported damage to a security light at the bank.

Jan. 3: Female, 38, reported receiving harassing or obscene messages from another person.

Jan. 4: A village employee reported the theft of a cellphone from the 200 block of Beulah Hill Road.

Jan. 6: Male, 44, reported an individual was arguing with a referee and also had an open container of alcohol at Rassie Wicker Park.
