Junior League Adds New Members

The Junior League of Moore County welcomes six new members to its fall 2012 new member class.
"Our new members represent a diverse cross section of the Moore County community and truly embody the mission of the JLMC," says a spokesman.
New members for December 2012 are: Chelsea Armfield, Michelle Corwin, Jessica Edwards, Ginger White, Tina Hutchinson and Danielle Mahoney.
The Junior League of Moore County is actively recruiting young women who are interested in serving their community.
A Provisional Social will be held Thursday, Jan. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mellow Mushroom, in Southern Pines, for those interested in learning more about JLMC.
"In addition to welcoming our new members, the Junior League of Moore County has also been busy throughout the holiday season," says the spokesman.
During the December monthly meeting, members wrapped presents to be given to an Empty Stocking Fund family.
The JLMC's family included five children and their parents. The gifts were delivered to the family the week before Christmas by JLMC members.
JLMC also sponsored a holiday dinner at the Southern Pines Boys and Girls Club on Nov. 28. During the dinner children participated in an arts and crafts project. A donation of books was also given to the Boys and Girls Club.
The Junior League of Moore County sponsored a tree for the town of Southern Pines to promote the JLMC, the league events and many community projects.
The Junior League of Moore County is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
