Two Arrested, Charged in Burglaries

The Moore County Sheriff's investigators have arrested two individuals and charged them in connection with two break-ins that occurred on Feb. 14 and Feb. 15.

On February 25, 2013 Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested Patrick James Welton, 24, of 148 North Berry Street, Pinebluff, and Charity Ann Frye, 23, of 148 Berry Street, Pinebluff. Welton was charged with one count felony breaking and entering, one count felony larceny, one count felony larceny after breaking and entering, two counts felony possession of stolen goods and four counts felony obtaining property by false pretenses.

Welton was confined to the Moore County jail under a $40,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for March 14 in Moore County District Court, Carthage.

Frye was charged with one count of felony breaking and entering, one count of larceny after breaking and entering, one count of felony possession of stolen goods and one count felony obtaining property by false pretenses. Frye was confined to the Moore County jail under a $20,000 secured bond. Her first Court appearance is scheduled for March 14 in district court.

Sheriff Lane Carter reported on February 14, 2013 his office received a breaking and entering report from Margaret Frye from the West End area of Moore County.She advised someone had entered her home and took a XBOX game system and games.

The Sheriff’s Office also received a similar report On February 15 from Kristin Welton from the Carthage area of Moore County. She advised a large amount of power tools along with electronics and jewelry had been taken from her home.

Sheriff’s investigators received information that lead to them to believe both incidents where committed by the same suspects. Investigators later located a large amount of the stolen property belonging to both victims. This property was also linked back to the same suspects.
