SP Man Arrested, Facing Weapons Charges

The Southern Pines Police have arrested Tremayne Devon McLeod, 36, of Southern Pines, on the charges of possession of a stolen weapon, weapon possession by a convicted felon and resist, delay, obstruct a public officer.
This arrest stems from an investigation by the Patrol Division relating to a citizen complaint where it was reported that Tremayne Devon McLeod had pointed a gun at the complainant in the 900 block of West Pennsylvania Ave in Southern Pines, according to police.
The first responding patrol officer attempted to speak with Tremayne McLeod who refused the officers instructions and fled on foot in the area of W. New York Ave. Tremayne McLeod was placed into custody without incident following foot pursuit by the responding officer, according to police.
Following this arrest, officers recovered three 9mm semiautomatic handguns and one .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun. Further investigation determined that two of the recovered weapons had been reported stolen.
McLeod appeared before a Moore County Magistrate and was remanded to the Moore County jail with $50,000 secured bond pending a hearing in Moore County District Court on March 7, 2013.
