Woman Charged with Prescription Drug Fraud

A Candor woman is charged with obtaining prescription pills by fraud.

Sheriff's investigators on Wednesday arrested Sallie Anne Steele, 45, of 334 Robinson Road, and charged her with felony trafficking in Opiates and felony obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider.

Steele received a $5,000 secured bond and was placed in the Moore County jail.

The arrest stems from an investigation by sheriff's investigators in which an individual obtaining 90 dosage units of Endocet prescription pills by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider.

Endocet is a Schedule II controlled substance.
