Carolina Tiger Rescue will hold its sixth annual Black Tie and Tails Ball on Saturday, Feb. 23.
This gala fundraiser will take place at the Washington Duke Inn on the Duke University campus in Durham, from 7 to 11 p.m.
The event's theme is "The Many Faces of Thailand," featuring an exotic evening of gourmet dining, an open bar, lighthearted games, silent and live auctions, entertainment and dancing.
The evening starts with butler-passed hors d'oeuvres, an open bar and live music while guests browse a silent auction area brimming with wine and dine packages, jewelry, decorative items, spa days and more.
The seated gourmet dinner begins with delicious salad dressed with champagne vinaigrette, and features a choice of grilled and smoked beef tenderloin, pan-roasted grouper, or winter vegetable risotto. This superb meal finishes in style with a decadent chocolate melting cake accented by coconut-lime ice cream.
The evening peaks with the excitement of a live auction conducted by professional auctioneer Matt Holiday. This year's auction features remarkable items including travel packages, original artwork, and a special surprise or two. Afterward, guests are invited to celebrate their winning bids with a turn on the dance floor.
Tickets are $125 per person. For more information about tickets, event sponsorship or donating auction items, visit www.blacktie andtailsball.com.
