Southern Pines Police Make Arrest Connected to String of Break-ins

Southern Pines police have arrested a man in connection with a string of break-ins in that occurred downtown over a period of two months.

Corbin Lee Valdez, 22, is charged with felony breaking and entering, misdemeanor larceny, possession of stolen goods and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

This arrest stems from an investigation by the Patrol and Investigation Divisions relating to breaking and entering incidents which were reported to the Southern Pines Police Department between November 22, 2012 and January 26, 2013. At the time of his arrest, Corbin Lee Valdez was in possession of property stolen during one of the incidents along with drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Valdez appeared before a Moore County Magistrate and was remanded to the Moore County Jail with $35,000.00 secured bond pending a hearing in Moore County District Court on February 13, 2013.
