Aberdeen Woman Faces Animal Cruelty Charges

An Aberdeen woman is facing animal cruelty charges afters an investigation into a report of two dogs tied up that appeared to be starving, Moore County Sheriff Lane Carter reported.
Latasha Rachele Harrison, 31, of 169 Shady Lane in Aberdeen was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of felony cruelty to animals and one count of felony killing an animal by starvation. She was placed in the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 21 in Moore County District Court.
Officers from the Moore County Sheriff's Office and Animal Control Officers investigated a report of a complaint that a residence had two dogs that appeared to be tied and starving to death. The report was received on Feb. 1.
