An Aberdeen man is facing felony robbery charges in connection with an armed robbery reported in Southern Pines in late January.

Carson Anthony Johnson, 23, of Aberdeen, is charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony possession of firearm by a felon.

Johnson was arrested on Feb. 5.

The arrest and charges stem from an investigation by the patrol and investigation divisions relating to an armed robbery which was reported on Jan. 28 to the Southern Pines Police Department. This incident took place at approximately 6:40 p.m. at 325 Southeast Service Road in Southern Pines.

Johnson appeared before a Moore County Magistrate and was remanded to the Moore County Jail with $15,000.00 secured bond pending a hearing in Moore County District Court on February 21, 2013.
