Language arts teacher Lisa Elliott had her head shaved by hairstylist Nichole Jenkins during an after-school event at Crains Creek Middle School May 3. Elliott promised students she would shave her head if they helped her raise money to participate in the Disney Half Marathon, which raises funds for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Students and the school community held Elliott to her promise and helped her raise more than $4,000. Enlarge

It's weirder than that. Cranes Creek Rd is near Little Crane Creek which feeds into Crane Creek. There is no Crane's Creek, Cranes Creek or Crain's Creek (per a sign on US 1) in the vicinity. No one has been able to explain that to me either.

Jim H...if I remember correctly, at one time the sign on old 1 said Cranes Creek and the sign on the bypass said Crains Creek.

Central Prison inmates print on signs and license plates what they are told by DOT Engineers via prison staff. I'm sure there are some raised eyebrows from inmates ....
