Showdown With Scots Up Next for Pinecrest

A share of first place in the Southeastern Conference will be on the line when the Pinecrest volleyball team travels to Laurinburg to take on undefeated Scotland High Tuesday evening.

The Patriots improved to 17-1 overall and 5-1 in the SEC with a 25-8, 25-12 and 25-17 sweep at Lumberton on Thursday. Their only loss of the season came in a five-set match against the Scots at home about three weeks ago.

Megan Thomas recorded 31 assists as Felicia Painter led the Pats with 10 kills. Janea Williams and Olivia McKinney contributed eight and seven kills, respectively. Also getting into the act with finishes were Amber Goodwin with five, Devin Lally with two and Alysha Gaffney with one.
