The O’Neal volleyball team suffered a conference loss at Harrell’s Academy Tuesday, falling 25-21, 25-18 and 25-21.
“Each game we were only a couple of points from winning the game,” said Falcon coach Kendall Harper. “Our own mistakes were costly after returning from a week off for class trips.”
Katja Ehlers lead the Falcons with 10 kills, six digs and two service aces. Taylor Shelton provided the team with four kills, two blocks and 11 digs. Scottie McGowan added four digs and had 14 assists. Teresa Donner had two service aces and Kelly Griffin also chipped in four digs. They face another tough conference opponent on Thursday at Village Christian.
O’Neal is now 6-5 overall and 2-2 in the Cape Fear Independent Conference.
In junior varsity action, the Falcons dropped its first conference match of the season. They are now 5-6 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
