The North Moore volleyball team is starting to reach its peak at the right time with its third Yadkin Valley Conference victory in its past four league matches.
The Lady Mustangs handed South Davidson a 3-0 setback in Robbins Monday. North Moore won the opening game of the match by a 25-21 score and really turned it on in the second game with a 25-9 final score. The Mustangs completed the sweep with a 25-17 victory in the third game.
Junior Alex Williams paced the Mustangs with 17 assists while senior Jalisa Davis finished with seven kills.
In previous matches, the Mustangs beat Chatham Central 3-0 at Bear Creek Sept. 13, followed by a 3-1 nonconference loss to 2-A Providence Grove in Robbins Sept. 17. The Mustangs dropped a conference match at South Stanly by a 3-1 score Sept 19.
North Moore rebounded from the back-to-back losses for a 3-0 sweep of North Rowan Sept. 20, giving it back-to-back conference victories for the first time this season. The Mustangs handled Chatham Central by the three-game scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-23. In the South Stanly loss, North Moore won the opening game 26-24 but dropped the next three games, 25-17, 25-21 and 25-20.
In the North Rowan win, the Mustangs opened with a 25-22 victory, followed by 25-14 and 25-23 wins. The victory over North Rowan avenged an earlier 3-2 loss at North Rowan.
With the regular season entering the final three weeks of the season, the Mustangs improve their conference mark to 5-6 and 5-9 overall.
The Mustangs travel to Maxpreps.com top-ranked 1-A team West Montgomery Thursday.
The Lady Warriors are currently 11-0 in league action and 14-1 overall.
West’s lone nonconference loss came at the hands of Union Pines.
The junior varsity match is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity match.
