Randolph Hospital, in Asheboro, offers two informational events later in September.
On Tuesday, Sept. 25, B.J. Chockley, director of rehabilitation services, will present a free seminar, titled "Balancing Act," at 6:30 p.m. at the hospital.
This seminar will focus on common risk factors for falling and ways to improve balance.
On Thursday, Sept. 27, cardiologist Dr. Malkiat Dhatt will be discussing the risk factors, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of congestive heart failure during his "Heart Failure Epidemic" Seminar at 6 p.m. at Randolph Hospital.
"Heart failure is a growing epidemic with 5 million Americans suffering from it, and 550,000 new cases every year," said Dhatt. "An estimated 50 percent of patients with heart failure will die within five years of diagnosis."
