Sophomore Tommy Delaunay and freshman Rachel Von Cannon were the 5K race winners as the Pinecrest boys and girls won the first Southeastern Conference cross country tri-meet of the season Wednesday in Raeford.

The Patriot boys took three of the first five places. Delaunay (17:53) was followed in by teammates Graham Hawes, second (18:16), Brandon Elliott, third (18:26), Alex Brown, fifth (19:30), and Nathan Pollard, 10th (19:57).

The team scores were Pinecrest 21, Richmond Senior 38 and Hoke County 86.

Patriot girls grabbed five of the first six places. Von Cannon (22:27) was followed by Kara Zoellner, second (22:32), Jordan Edmondson, third (23:04), Mary Katherine Johnson, fourth (23:11) and Hana Bornhorst, sixth (23:59).

The team scores were Pinecrest 16, Richmond 65 and Hoke 82.
