The Democratic Women of Moore County will hold its next monthly meeting Saturday at the Homewood Suites, in Olmsted Village.

Coffee and socializing begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the meeting at 10 a.m. The guest speaker will be Carthage attorney Dusty Rhoades, who will share his observations of the current political scene. Rhoades also writes a weekly column of political commentary and satire for The Pilot.

An accomplished writer, Rhoades has written several novels, most notably the suspenseful crime-fiction Jack Keller series.

Everyone is asked to bring canned goods to donate to the food bank. The meeting is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.
