The O'Neal School picked up a 3-0 non-conference soccer win over St. David's School Thursday in Southern Pines.

With the home win the Falcons improved to 6-2 on the season, offering a resounding answer to their 4-0 Cape Fear Independent Conference (CFIC) road loss at the start of the holiday-shortened week Tuesday against Fayetteville Academy (5-1-1)

Mason Sullivan got O'Neal on the board with an unassisted goal in the 8th minute of action, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead which they carried into intermission.

Midway through the second half the home team struck twice in less than two minutes of game time to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the contest.

Jacob Talbert scored both goals for the Falcons with the first coming in the 59th minute on an assist by Sullivan. Some 90 or so seconds later, Talbert again found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Richard Catania that put a cap on the scoring for the evening.

St. David's School dropped to 2-5-1 with the loss.

O'Neal returns to the pitch Monday in Sanford to face the Lee Christian School Falcons in a non-league tilt at 4:30 p.m.
