God bless Moore County 911, Southern Pines Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the excellent care given at FirstHealth Moore Regional/Reid Heart Center in the wee hours of the morning.
My brother Dennis was having chest pains. Our 88-year-old mother called 911 and then me. I live next door, so I was there within a couple of minutes. My brother was gray.
Southern Pines Fire and Rescue arrived first and started immediate assessment. EMS arrived next and was updated on his situation.
I’d taken our pups outside and heard the sirens come on. I’d called almost all of my family only moments before to let them know what was going on.
The sirens meant the status had changed, and I started calling again. Southern Pines Fire and Rescue and Moore County EMS gave great pre-hospital care to my brother and calmed our frightened mother.
The ER staff and Reid Heart Center kept my family updated throughout everything.
I’m so thankful we have such an efficient, caring and knowledgeable group of people when we need them most. The doctors said my brother would have died if Mom hadn’t called 911 for help.
Angels truly walk among us. Thank you.
