Sad, Not Funny

Our Obama sign was stolen from our own front yard last night. This is not funny — it is very sad!

I paid for my sign as a contribution and feel personally violated. The perpetrators had to trespass 20 feet into our yard to commit their crime.

I have yet to hear of a Romney sign being stolen. We should ask ourselves, “Who are these people, who by their example, imply that they want to reduce individual freedom and move our country toward more authoritarian rule?”

What is sad is that you actually paid for it and with all of the people that need help out there, instead of doing something worthwhile, you choose to take the time to write a letter of complaint to the Pilot about a campaign sign. People in this town need to work on their priorities.

Dear fightfirewithfire, Where are your priorities? why are you commenting when you should be out doing something worthwhile?

I had my Romney sign stolen, but I was paid to put it up & received a new one free. I love the GOP & free enterprise.

Can we just outlaw these moronic signs already?? All they are is garbage on stilts. If your vote is in any way swayed by a sign, bumper sticker, or billboard you are very pathetic.

I wish Obama would agree to give Trump his transcripts and give the $5 million to the Hurricane Sandy relief effort. :) They sure could use it.

What's sad is that you support this lying poor excuse of a leader. You obviously have no respect for the truth. Your lawn will get more respect empty! Trust Me!!

"The American Dream" has been stolen from alot of people, due to our faith in "leadership". But those signs of yours are top priority. Congratulations America!!

For God's sake....quit snivelling and go get another sign...Mike

MikeNC - Don't mean to be picky, but that's at least the 5th time you posted this picture in these blogs. It's getting repetitive and boring, at least be original. Kind of turning me off the team - so I guess signs do matter.

I guess even The Pilot got tired of it and removed it. But I was wrong, I went thru your comment history & you posted it 10 times.

LMAO you going to vote for OBAMA AGAIN AND PAID FOR A SIGN. JUST WOW!!!!

I wish Trump would agree to let Stephen Colbert dip his nuts in his mouth and give the million to the Hurricane Sandy relief effort. :) They sure could use it.

What really sucks is that no-one has any respect for private property! It is wrong to steal an Obama sign or a Romney sign. But there is one funny thing I read here... you get paid to put up a Romney sign? LOL, maybe the GOP should do better things with their money! Too funny. Hell, I might even put up a Romney sign if they paid me enough. Don't get me wrong, it wouldn't change my vote, nor do I think it would change anyone elses, but hey, show me the money! lol

Dear teufelhunden, I agree with you but you can't produce something that does not exist.

I heard of a person who took an Obama sign in order to have one for his front yard. So not really stolen...but possibly just redistributed....Mike

I put a Romney sticker on my car. I went out yesterday morning, my bumper was gone. Should I writer a letter?

Ridiculous. By the way, how many Obama supporters say we can't impose our views on Muslims regarding women's rights because of "culture"...that we have to respect their tradition, and hopefully, they will change. My bet? These same folks have a "Save The Whales" sticker on their Prius, and cheer Greenpeace boats ramming Japanese and Eskimo whaling boats...despite that whaling has been their tradition for thousands of years before the founding of Islam. These liberals have no problem getting in the face of the Japanese, Eskimos, and American Indians...but Muslims are exempt from their wrath, and we are told to respect their "culture." One culture demeans and abuses women, one culture hunts whales to support their families. To a liberal, which one is the worst? Cheers!

Ok so here is the skinny..

do you want to know why your sign was stolen?

Your sign was stolen because it is supporting a man who is destroying the fabric of our nation, and some people just wont stand for it.

On the other hand I have had to replace 7 Romney signs and 2 Newby signs in less then 3 weeks.

Signs, signs, everywhere there's signs........ F*%#in' up the scenery, breakin' my mind....... Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign!!

0

Yukonjohn 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Thatcher, how are ya buddy? I hope ya'll are all well and glad to see you did not suffer the wrath of hurricane Sandy. I will find out tomorrow or the next day if l will be coming down to work in the relief effort. If l do, l will come to NC after my assignment. No real orders yet, but l would not be surprised to see them flooding in in a few days. I agree with you about moslem women. I do not have much use for Islamic folks anyway, they do not like us very much anyway, and if they do not like how WE live, they are more than free to move!!! You are also right about the whalers. They give Eskimo's hell about whaling on the high seas. I wish that the whalers would sink a couple of their boats and see if they still want to disrupt their subsistance lifestyle that they have had for generations.

Pack, every time l hear that song l think of the first chorus....Well the sign said long haired freaky people, need not apply. So l tucked my hair up under my hat, went in to ask him why.....my ponytail is pretty long, and my beard is as well....but that is pretty normal up here!! Good song!!!

0

The signs are just big neon flashing statements about the person who puts them out and nothing to do with the candidates. I doubt anyone has driven by a sign and said "Oh, I think I will vote for this person because I see their name everywhere!" It might be a better use of them if everyone put their candidate signs at the end of their driveway so we could know who we want to be friends with.

I'm more concerned about the multiple instances of Romney votes being counted for Obama that is getting little attention. Its not enough for Romney to win, he has to win by a wide enough margin to over come the fraud. I'm sure Jim will be along to assure us that there is nothing to see here, either. It is wierd though, I have heard no instances of Obama votes being switched to Romney.

0

teufelhunden 6 months, 2 weeks ago

First machines acting up in Guilford County now in Ohio. People are voting for Romney but they say it's marking it for Obama. How many more need recalibrating? Scary thought!

Yukon, you sound like a ruggedly handsome mountain man!!!

0

Middleman522 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Colbert is a pure jack... and so is Stewart! Hacks! Reading other people's jokes! Just like the latenite jerks. I wish they would write their own material one night and see how those ratings workout! BTW, I bought my sign and bumper sticker for Romney, and got another for donating! The main reason I am voting for Romney is because unlike progressives, he does NOT think that higher TAXES will cure everything. Like poverty, global warming, I mean climate change, unemployment, peace, racism, transpotation, ect. ect. JOBS people and less regulations. Nobamascare!

Yukon ~ I got the winter beard coming out, but the hair doesn't grow as long as it once did. Yeah, we gotta Americanize those Eskimos up there. I know, let's send Al Gore up there to give 'em a little talk on how they need to change their ways.

0

SH59 6 months, 2 weeks ago

I asked at the voting place about the discrepancies and they said it was impossible to see whether the vote went in as correct and after I put my ballot in I saw that. It's not like you get a receipt. I think it's probably a lot of people just making it up.

So now they're complaining that the voting machines are biased towards OBAMA? When it's Tagg Romney who owns an interest in a voting machine company whose machines are being used in Ohio?

Wow, we must be winning by a bigger margin than I thought if the cries of "cheater" are already starting.

Signs of panic from the GOP in Florida:

http://www.wptv.com/dpp/news/region_c_palm_beach_county/west_palm_beach/local-gop-memo-dems-cleaning-our-clock

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A memo obtained by NewsChannel 5's Evan Axelbank, from an adviser to a Florida GOP campaign, says that the Democratic turnout effort is "cleaning our clock."

0

Courseaire 6 months, 2 weeks ago

I predict that the majority of all Early voting turn-out are Democrats which will represent about 10% of all registered Democrats. However, come next Tues, those actually going to the polls to vote will be 90% Republicans and will represent 75% of registered Republicans. Roughly, registered voters are equal between Democrats & Republicans. This will end up being a landslide win for Romney.

0

Hembloche 6 months, 2 weeks ago

@ Courseaire- Huh?

0

Guy_Forks 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Early voting should be abolished, we should not be encouraging the stupid and uninformed to vote. To better define my meaning, despite our disagreements, I consider Dusty to be an informed and intelligent voter.

A poll tax is unconstitutional, but a test of knowledge is not. I'd love to see a short test asking only who the incumbents are as a requirement to voting in each contest. To many people vote based on frivolous information, such as a name. Case and point: Mr. Greene's nomination to the democratic ticket for US congress in SC.

0

Hembloche 6 months, 2 weeks ago

@ Guy - How would abolishing early voting discourage the stupid and uninformed? I would like to see something along the lines of requiring a voter to state 3 things their chosen candidate stands for before allowing the vote to be counted. Would be interesting to see how many votes would get tossed out :)

LaissezFaire 6 months, 2 weeks ago

Each election becomes more desperate than the last due to the political spin machine. the sign being stolen is just more energy going into these elections. If Romney ( run around) loses to Obama ( Oblamer) the sun will still come up in the morning and the birds will still chirp and the republicans will just go out and buy more guns to make themselves feel better. The welfare/warfare state will continue. Trends of this magnitude do not change because a new rump is in the chair.

Anonymus Seer has peered into the crystal ball and seen the future. The bomb shelter is ready. That must be some kind of crystal ball that can see a future that doesn't exist yet. Fortune tellers live in the future and Sceptical Empiricist like me live in the "Now moment". The end of the world has a long history.

0

Yukonjohn 6 months, 2 weeks ago

TAP, luckily, we will survive and do OK also. Heck, we will do as well as we usually do. We don't have all the "frills" of most Americans, but nobody needs all those frills. This tragedy on the east coast is going to get worse and worse as time goes on. It is going to be very sad, and the very last thing our struggling country needs!!
