The Robert F. Kennedy Jr. lecture scheduled for tonight at Sandhills Community Colleg has been canceled.
Because of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy in the Northeast, Kennedy was unable to travel to Moore County. He was scheduled to discuss “The Green Gold Rush: A Vision for Energy Independency, Jobs, and National Wealth” as The Pilot’s 2012-2013 Sam Ragan Memorial Lecture of the Ruth Pauley Lecture Series. The Sandhills Area Lnad Trust is the co-sponsor.
Organizers say the lecture will be rescheduled at a later date.

I just wonder if old JFK Jr. was going to talk about all of the "Green Companies and Jobs" that have gone Bye-Bye at tax payer expense! It would take a Kennedy to try to sell that load!! I would love to have been in the crowd to ask questions about that Green Gold Rush that Obama's buddies enjoyed with our money! Camelot??? I don't think so!

I’m well aware that Clinton isn’t running lol. My point is, that instead of always voting your party, why not vote for the best person instead of the party line that most do. I’m an independent, but yet people are bashing a DEAD candidate’s son as if what was relevant then is relevant now. And that’s not saying that Jr.’s positions are the same as dads. What I’m pointing out is the narrow mindedness of the whole party system, democrat or republican. And “Thatcher”… I’m sorry you made some bad investments or whatever… during Clinton. Bottom line is the country never ran smoother and had no deficit! History will prove that…I’m done here

Amen to that clarabelle! One of the right wing loonies was on the loose yesterday on the Morganton Road bridge over US1. He was walking back and forth holding a large sign calling our President a coward and disgrace to our country and condemning the Libya situation. Yes, our great nation allows each of us the freedom of expression and to choose our leaders, but can we not give respect to our current President while expressing our choice in the upcoming election. I have never seen the degree of hate for a President in the past as with President Obama. Why don't you focus on the things Romney is going to change if he gets elected instead of constantly degrading Obama! Save the nonsense for the polling booth and quit trying to use scare tactics to persuade voters. An independent voter looking at the big picture! Can we get a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T?

Courseaire- GWB was ridiculed for his actions, but was not hated the same way Obama is. Maybe the right wingers just can't get used to having a President that has a "Muslim sounding" name or.....maybe all the scare tactics used by the righties have contributed to the hate!

What gives Kennedy the authority to talk about Green anything? I am amazed at how the Kennedy's have transfixed this country. History shows us that they did little to help, except for JFK's challenge to go to the moon. Beyond that not much beyond how the senior fleeced so many in illegal activities....

JFK had the sack to stand up to Russia during the missle crisis. We will never know if things would have turned out different had someone else been in office, but there arent missle's in Cuba.

Moconative, you're dead wrong...we ( me included ) gave obumma the respect due to a president for a little over his first year in office. You EARN respect...it should NOT be given as a matter of course to just anybody. ( for reference see criminal leaders, Nazis, Mussolini, Stalin, etc. ) Obama has not earned any respect with his inept kingship, his attitude towards his country and his fellow citizens, his attitude towards the rest of the world. He is now in a situation where he should be fired for his handling of the killing of an ambassador and other Americans. They were not "nominal" enough for him, I guess.

Some of you know better judging from some of your more intelligent comments on other blogs but the old adage "if you cant's say anything nice then keep your mouth shut" should be considered before you just write trash because you are bored. Or the Pilot could fix the REPLY BUTTON so the rest of us can actually have a conversation.
