On Saturday, Nov. 3, interested persons may sign up for the Yellow Dot program at the Given Memorial Library in Pinehurst, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The program is free and available to all Moore County residents.

Signing up is easy. Participants will have their picture taken and complete an information form with medical and emergency contact information that will go in the glove compartment in a Yellow Dot folder.

They also will receive a Yellow Dot decal for the rear window of their vehicle. This decal indicates the presence of vital information for First Responders, in the event of a vehicle crash or other roadside medical emergency, when they are unable to speak for themselves. This not only can save response time but can saves lives. The information form may be completed later.

Everyone in the family can benefit from the program, from kids through seniors.

Project leader Dave Fusco said, "Our primary objective is to sign up as many residents, as soon as possible."

The Yellow Dot program is offered to Moore County residents as a public service by the Rotary Club of the Sandhills and FirstHealth of the Carolinas, made possible through the support and efforts of many organizations, including the Moore County Fire Chief's Association, Department of Public Safety, Sheriff's Department, and Police Chiefs, FirstHealth of the Carolinas, MooreHealth, Pinehurst Toyota Hyundai Kia, The Pilot, Moore County Leadership Institute, Rotary District 7690, and Rotary Club of the Sandhills.

Sign-ups are continuing each week on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with special sign-up events on Saturday.
