Take the Litmus Test

As a litmus test for the presidential/vice presidential candidates, I offer the following questions, and the reader can choose the candidate being referenced:
Who …
(1) will seek massive tax cuts for millionaires?
(2) will seek massive reduction in Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps and Pell Grants?
(3) insulted the British government, and their people, with his disparaging and unwarranted comments about the security at the Olympics?
(4) has a significant amount of his personal wealth in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda?
(5) blamed Obama for a GM plant being closed in Janesville, Wis., even though it had been closed before Obama took office?
(6) is continuing the colossal hoax trying, in a pitiful manner, to connect with the middle class?
(7) failed miserably to mention, even once, Afghanistan or anything about our soldiers in his convention speech?
(8) distorted his marathon race time by 60 minutes?
(9) has palpable animosity toward the rest of America, the ones who are not rich?
(10) had, in 1991, demanded and obtained a $10 million dollar payment from the federal government to help his business dealings?
Summary: Lastly, and more telling about a person’s character, is the rude commentary offered by Romney at a fund-raiser in Florida with the entire audience being very rich donors.
He spoke with a demeaning voice that 47 percent of the mainstream were not meaningful to him, did not pay enough taxes, and would be most likely to vote for President Obama. Therefore, he was not going to spend too much time with them.
Enough said.

I just finished watching a movie on-line (free for the next two weeks) called "Agenda -- Grinding Down America. It's long, an hour and thirty minutes, but well worth watching. If you've wondered how Obama, a hack Chicago politician, came out of no where to become president and what his agenda for "fundamentally changing America" is, this movie will give you the answers. It starts a bit slow but keeps getting better.
The link ( http://vimeo. com/52009124 ) was sent to me by a friend, Ron in MI. The words above are his but I took him at his word and I, too, just finished watching and now encourage all to see how we have been duped and used for years...... This might give you a different outlook Mr. VanHoover or confirm that you are either a committed communist or have been used most of your life to advance their agenda.....

No matter how much damage control the Romney camp tries to use, Romney's distaste for those of us hard-working Americans who are not also rich is crystal-clear. No, Obama is not perfect - no president or politician ever has been. But, he's a far cry better than being ruled by a rich man who has not a clue what life is really like for the 99% he despises.

Obama is not a rich man? Over the past 4 years he has improved the lives of the 99% how? Cheers!

Suppose that every day 10 men go to a restaurant for dinner. The bill for all ten comes to $100. If it was paid the way we pay our taxes, the first four men would pay nothing; the fifth would pay $1; the sixth would pay $3; the seventh $7; the eighth $12; the ninth $18. The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.The 10 men ate dinner in the restaurant every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement until the owner threw them a curve. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily meal by $20." Now dinner for the 10 only costs $80. The first four are unaffected. They still eat for free. Can you figure out how to divvy up the $20 savings among the remaining six so that everyone gets his fair share? The men realize that $20 divided by 6 is $3.33, but if they subtract that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would end up being paid to eat their meal. The restaurant owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same percentage, being sure to give each a break, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay. And so now the fifth man paid nothing, the sixth pitched in $2, the seventh paid $5, the eighth paid $9, the ninth paid $12, leaving the tenth man with a bill of $52 instead of $59. Outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. "I only got a dollar out of the $20," complained the sixth man, pointing to the tenth, "and he got $7!" "Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got seven times more than me!" "That's true," shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $7 back when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks!" "Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor." Then, the nine men surrounded the tenth man (the richest one, paying the most) and beat him up. The next night the richest man didn't show up for dinner, so now the nine men sat down and ate without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They were $52 short! "And that, boys, girls and college instructors, is how America's tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up at the table any more. There are lots of good restaurants in Switzerland and the Caribbean."

Once upon a time silliness like this was limited to one or two leftists. Now it seems like they are mulitplying like rabbits. Nothing will top the whopper posted yesterday "Obama does not lie". Irrational, baseless class warfare and character assassination.

Hey Ronnie, how about six trillion in new debt, twenty to twenty five million either un-employed or under-employed, open borders, a dvd of his speeches to the Queen of England, a millionaire and his wife ( also a millionaire ) who has no regard for his country, a man who has no business experience, a man who has bowed to foreign leaders, a man who claims to be a Christian but has plenty of remarks stating his "muslim roots", a man who has no regard for race relations, a man who has no foreign relations experience, a man who was singularly un-qualified to be president, a man who is a proven liar, a man who let "Fast and furious" take place and then used a presidential edict to cover the truth, a man who allowed an ambassador to be killed and has once again tried to cover it up, a man who the media will not under any circumstances report on his transgressions, etc. Make you proud?? It shouldn't!! I consider a vote for obumma to be an un-patriotic act.

Skylinepest, you do realize that half of America really likes our President? I am no fan of his, but he is now facing one of the worst tragedies that has ever struck our country. It will be interesting to see how anyone will deal with this most horrible tragedy. Have you seen Chris Christie? He says that the President has done a fantastic job. While again, I am not a fan of his, but we will have to give credit where it is due IF he comes through with any good things. I doubt he will, but who knows? All I do know is that right now is not a time to critize him or any other leader that are trying to fix this national disaster.

Yukon, I don't agree with you!! With the election ( possibly the most important election for our country in my lifetime ) I'm not possibly going to give a time-out to the most destructive president I've ever seen. All he has done for the storm victims is sympathize...and we're all doing that. What else has he done for them??? Well, let's see...under his watch gas prices are up 107%, groceries are up 20%, food stamps are up 65%, welfare is up 32%, a family's healthcare is up by an average of $2500, and a family's income is down by an average of $4000!!! You still think he needs a time out??
Yukonjohn 6 months, 2 weeks ago
SLP, but you would have raised holy hades if someone had spoken bad about Geo Bush after 911. This is no different. Sure, he has not done a good job, but he deserves our full support now. If you don't like him, and obviously you do not, then don't vote for him.
Yukonjohn 6 months, 2 weeks ago
By the way, I think Geo Bush was the most destructive President in my lifetime. More than Jimmy Carter and the current person filling that office. Anyone that would purposefully take our nation to war over something that he knew was not true is a traitor to our nation. And before you start calling me a bleeding heart Democrat, I voted for President Reagan twice, and until I came to Alaska was a registered Republican for my whole adult life. I know now I will never be a Republican again, not in this lifetime.

Wdd101st, As a vet, I am also very curious about Lybia and the sequence of events. I think the Congress should look into it more deeply. If there was wrong doing, it should be brought forward and let the chips fall where they may. On this natural disaster, he is in touch with the Governors of the affected states, and by Chris Christie's account, he is doing a "bang up" job. I take Chris Christie at his word. It is still up in the air as to how the President will end up handling this horrible national tragedy, hopefully he will do very well. If Mitt Romney wins next week, I hope he will do well also. I think at times like these, we should rally around our leaders, even if we disagree with them on their policies and their leadership, or lack thereof.

You are absolutely right Yukonjohn, in that George Bush was the most DESTRUCTIVE President we've ever had. The FACTS prove this. There are no FACTS to prove what they say about President Obama. This super destructive storm will test the most populated area in America and the 5th most populated in the world with everything they've got. For the second time in a little more than a year my sister in CT is without power. Yet she lives in one of the wealthiest communities in America. Mother Nature shows no mercy to poverty or wealth. My son who lives and works in NYC said to me yesterday, "My city is deluged, it is so sad." He works in Lower Manhattan and his building is without power so they've asked the employees to help at any local shelter that they can....and he has. Our President will be visiting the State of New Jersey today with Gov. Christie to see first hand the damage...as he should. But Mayor Bloomberg has asked him to stay away. What a jerk. The President is the President of the UNITED STATES and it is his job to be there when there are disasters such as this. This is NOT a political move. The pictures of the coasts on NJ and NY are unbelievable and the President is REQUIRED to be there and he will.......unlike George Bush. George's former FEMA Chief "Brownie" has complained that the President is acting too quickly. WHAT? Republicans are a sick bunch and Mitt wants to do away with FEMA? Give it to the STATES with a Block Grant? We used to have to work within the boundries of Block Grants at the DSS I worked at and I say FORGET IT. It was a horrendous system. that at times made more misery than it solved. FOUR MORE YEARS PRESIDENT OBAMA!

My memory is not so short. Anyone remember when D.C. was hit by a massive storm a couple months back? Massive power outages for 2+ weeks. The chosen one was where? Oh yeah vacationing, golfing, and campaigning. Any rational leader would have grabbed a chain saw and helped his town out. If anything it would have been a great photo op that would have shown true leadership. The man is so sorry the only time he's willing to break a sweat is on the basketball court. If we want "leadership" these days, it's time to look in the mirror and have a talk with the only one who can truly make a difference.
Yukonjohn 6 months, 2 weeks ago
Thats right Pack, we are the only ones that can help ourselves. I will most likely find out today or tomorrow if/when orders will come out for our folks to go down. I imagine it will take FEMA a few days to become totally engaged. Then we will be able to see, once again, how inept they really are. This is be a glaring example, just due to where it is. I have worked on 5 FEMA incidents to include hurricanes Ivan and Katrina and have seen up close and first-hand how poorly they work.
MC7, while we agree about Geo Bush, in my opinion, the current President is right up there with him and Jimmy Carter as one of the worst!! We will probably only get to see a week of how bad he is, but it is going to be a struggle for Mitt Romney if he wins also.

Anyone remember when Obama and EPA denied the use of oil skimmers in the gulf?? If I'm to look up to and accept any form of leadership, they better have some calloused hands.

Yukon, while I agree with part of what you say I think that another four years of this liar in chief will pretty much destroy the United States as a first world power!! And Moonie, I distinctly remember the mayor of New Orleans ( we're all chocolate?? ) and the gov. of La. as being a true pair of idiots. I remember Rev. Jackson saying "who was gonna drive them?? , when he was told that the people could have driven school busses to safety and were too sorry to help themselves and bunches died because they waited for the government to save them. I remember people who were more interested in looting than in helping their fellow citizens. You forget that, as it is NOT obama's responsibility to head up a response to Sandy it also was not Bush's responsibility to head up Katrina's response. In fact rescue and relief units were set up ahead of time IN BOTH CASES. Solid people will help themselves in time of need and the sorriest of humanity will wait for government. It as proven again in New Orleans as opposed to surrounding areas which were hit just as badly but they dug in and worked and were not given nearly the aid from government that NO got.

Yukon, the difference was that 9-11 was a man made attack where these others are basically an act of God, if you will. Storms happen all the time and politicians at national levels take their hits with them constantly from the media. Bush took a terrible time from Katrina and he was not responsible for the problems in New Orleans. On the other hand you'll recall that it didn't take long after 9-11 for the partison crowd to start their bitching and whining and you'll notice that they take great delight in still doing so...I offer Moonie as a local example.
moonchild7 6 months, 2 weeks ago
Well, I give you "moonie clan" info since they are there are I am not. Neither are you, I guess fugitiveguy. They have FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE of what's going on besides what the tv says. Yukonjohn, you seem to be a smart person but I just don't get where you put Jimmy Carter and President Obama together as the worst? According to many polls, Andrew Johnson, James Buchanan and Franklin Pierce lead the "lists" of worst Presidents. I have now lived thru the Presidency's of Ike to Obama. Richard Nixon and George Bush top my lists, as far as the damage they've caused to America. Oh, Reagan's not far behind. I also now know (according to my son) that they not only have evacuated NYU Medical Center but also now Bellevue. Why does The NYSE have better Generators than HOSPITALS? WHY?! Mother Nature is telling people a lot and they aren't listening.
