Carthage Man Faces Prescription Pill Fraud Charge

A Carthage man faces charges that he obtained controlled prescription pills by fraud, Sheriff Lane Carter said.

Moore County Sheriff's officers today arrested Marvin Rodrick Jessee Jr., 45, of 507 Connell Road, and charged him with felony obtaining controlled substance by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider, and felony trafficking in Opium by possession.

The arrest and charges stem from an investigation conducted by officers from the Moore County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and involved an individual obtaining controlled prescription pills, Oxycodone, by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider. Oxycodone is a Schedule II controlled substance

Jessee received a $1,000 secured bond and was placed in the Moore County jail.
