Chrissy Boals will be the first of five Pinecrest golfers to tee off at Pinehurst No. 6 today morning in the girls’ 4-A Central Regional Tournament.

Boals, a junior, is scheduled to get started from the first tee at 9:24 a.m. Sophomore Catherine Cirigliano, 9:33, senior Haley Robinson, 9:42, junior Savannah Thompson, 9:51 and junior Gabby Weiss, 10:00 a.m., complete the Patriot lineup.

Weiss was the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and the other four Patriots playing on Tuesday all earned all-conference honors.

The top four teams in the regional, based on the three best scores for each, qualify for the 4-A state championships, also at No. 6, next Monday and Tuesday.

Also qualifying are the top 14 players, excluding the 12 making it as part of a qualifying team. A top 4 team can still qualify its fourth and fifth players that are among the top 14 individuals qualifying.

Coach Jennifer Kearney’s squad won last year’s regional at Pinehurst No. 8 and all five of its players qualified for the state tournament.
