Carthage Man Faces Charges in Two Break-ins

A Carthage man faces felony larceny charges in connection with two break-ins reported this summer, said Moore County Sheriff Lane Carter in a press release.

Sheriff's investigators on Thursday arrested Bibey, 20, of 168 Ayers Lane, and charged him with two counts each of felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen property and obtaining property by false pretense. He was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. His first court appearance is set for Nov. 1 in Moore County District Court.

The charges stem from an investigation into two reported break-ins and larcenies. The first was reported on July 19 by Bryan Dominie who lives in the Carthage area. The other was reported on Aug. 4 by William Matthews, who also lives in the Carthage area.

According to the sheriff's office, a firearm reported stolen in the incident on Aug. 4 was pawned at Jim's Loans Guns and Gold, Southern Pines. A report was also filed for Jim’s Loans Guns and Gold for the fraud. The fraud consist of the firearm being pawn after same had been stolen.
