Two Men Face Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

Two Southern Pines men are facing drug charges after officers conducted a traffic stop and seized more than 150 grams of marijuana.

Officers arrested Tequan Kemble Chalmers, 26, of 1095 W. Michigan Avenue, and Kashif Dean Horton, 24, of S. Carlisle Street.

Chalmers is charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and felony possession of marijuana. He received a $25,000 secured bond and was placed in the Moore County jail.

Horton is charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor careless and reckless driving.

Horton received a written promise to appear in court and was released.
