In response to public input, the Rotary Club of the Sandhills is offering sign- ups for the Yellow Dot program on Saturdays through October and November.
Those sign-up events are as follows:
n Oct. 13, 10 a.m. to noon, at Seven Lakes West, Westside Park Community Center
n Oct. 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Holly Art and Crafts Festival, Pinehurst
n Oct. 27, 9 a.m. to noon, Boyd Library, Sandhills Community College
n Nov. 3, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Given Library and Tufts Archives, Pinehurst
Project leader Dave Fusco said plans are under way with organizations to host more Saturday sign-up events.
“Our primary objective is to sign up as many residents, as soon as possible,” he said.
Residents can continue to sign up at five fire department locations — Aberdeen, Carthage, Pinehurst, Seven Lakes and Southern Pines — every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Yellow Dot program is designed to provide first reponders important medical information in the case of roadside emergency. The patient information, along with a photo, is kept in a yellow folder in the glove box of the vehicle. A yellow sticker on the back windshield of the vehicle alerts first responders to look there for the information.
“Everyone needs Yellow Dot because anyone can be in a vehicle crash or other roadside emergency and not be able to communicate when first responders arrive,” Fusco said.
Fusco thanked the volunteers and the fire departments who all were instrumental in getting the program started. He said he looks forward to working with all the departments and the Moore County De-partment of Public Safety to expand the program.

Thanks for listening to the community and offering sign up for this program on Saturdays! I think there are many who work during the week who could benefit from this program and now they will have the opportunity to sign up! I know I plan to visit one of these Saturday locations!
