Simpson, Pats Rally Past Rams

Senior quarterback Dwayne Simpson scored two rushing touchdowns and three for a third, as Pinecrest scored 20 unanswered fourth quarter points to defeat Purnell Swett, 20-7 tonight in Southeastern conference play.

On the night, Simpson rushed for 126 yard, and passed for another 137.

Simpson connected with Tew for a 46-yard touchdown pass and a Conner Hees extra point knotted the score, 7-all.

Then Simpson scored on runs of 23 and 24 yards to secure the win. The final run game with just 55 seconds left in the game.

The final touchdown came after the Patriot defense stopped the Rams on a fourth and 1 play for the Rams 29.

The Rams took a 7-0 lead in the third quarter on a 65-yard fumble return by Issac Jacobs. The Rams (2-6, 0-3) have not scored an offensive touchdown in the past four games.

Pinecrest will play at Richmond Senior next Friday and end the regular season the following week at home against Hoke County.
