Temple Theatre, in Sanford, presents an adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The 39 Steps” Thursday, Oct. 18, through Sunday, Nov. 4.

Performances are Thursdays at 2 and 7 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

“Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have this intriguing, thrilling, riotous and unmissable comedy,” says a spokesman.

The show hurtles a notorious fugitive and a spellbound blonde from a London musical hall north by northwest to Scotland’s most remote highlands. Will they save Britain from a den of devious spies?

A cast of four plays more than 150 characters in this fast-paced tale of an ordinary man on an extraordinary entertaining adventure. This fast-paced comedy thriller is appropriate for ages 9 to 90.

“The 39 Steps” is directed by Jerry Sipp.
