I was so pleased to read Chris Mastaler’s letter “When Dems Took Over” (Sept. 28). I have mentioned this fact of the Democrats being in power the last two years of Bush’s presidency.
I’m so tired of hearing the blame of all the spending being placed on George W. Bush, and wonder why this has not been mentioned by the media and others. It is Congress that controls legislation, and Bush’s hands were tied by (Congress) not accepting any of his recommendations on many of the problems that resulted in those years.
It is evident that the liberal media controls much of what we are told and, without checking facts, we believe. I listened to a reporter’s interview of several citizens and was appalled at how little they were informed about our country’s history and about the political candidates, only interested in what benefits they should be entitled to.
The Democrats’ theme is “forward,” but from the backward movement of the past three-and-a-half years, I say let’s go back to the living of those in what is said to be “the greatest generation,” where people were proud of their country and the free enterprise system, and did not want the government in control of our lives and eliminating God.
I would love to have my grandchildren enjoy the freedoms I enjoyed and the family values, and providing for ourselves with the knowledge of what our forefathers fought for and envisioned as a great country.
We are not moving forward. Wake up, America, and change courses.

Tell me, Mildred, which of Shrub's proposals did Congress not go along with? Why didn't he pay heed to the CIA and his own counter-terrorism group and take the threat of al Qaeda seriously?

Jim, these terrorists attacked the WTC the first time on Bill Clintons watch. Then they attacked our soldiers/sailors on the USS Cole. Then, Bill Clinton refused to give the executive order to snipe UBL when he was in scope because UBL had not broken any “civil” laws. You have the audacity to lay all this on Bush?

Chief, that sign forgot to mention Romney's investments in Commercial Bank of China, and China National Offshore Oil Corporation, all government owned. It bolsters his resume in the business department IMO; I don't know why he doesn't mention it more often :)

You must of been part of the 29%, that was Bush's approval rating when he left office.
