Vass Woman Charged with Felony Food Stamp Fraud

A Vass woman has been charged in connection with a food stamp fraud, Moore County Sheriff Lane Carter said.
Moore County Sheriff's investigators on Sept. 28 arrested Casey Nicole Hardy, 27 years old, of 443 Smith Street in Vass, N.C. Hardy was charged with one count of felony food stamp fraud. Hardy was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond and is scheduled in appear in Moore County district court on Oct. 11..
The arrest stems from an investigation into a report from the Moore County Department of Social Services in reference to a possible food stamp fraud. An investigator with the Moore County Department of Social Services advised that the fraud was in regards to additional members living in the household and receiving income which was not recorded by the applicant for such services.

This is unusual. Normally they only make them sign a statement saying they didn’t do it and won’t do it. It’s about time they go tough on some of these people.
