A Cameron man is facing a felony charge of stealing from his employer, according to Southern Pines police.

George Edward Whitaker, 38, of Cameron, is charged with one count of felony larceny by employee. The arrest stems frm an investigation by police into a reported larceny that was reported on Oct. 8. The incident involved the theft of a merchandise from Lowe's Home Improvement on different dates, police said.

Whitaker received a $2,500 secured bond and was placed in the Moore County jail pending a hearing in district court on Dec. 13.
