Moore County deputies arrested an Asheboro man on drug charges after they found marijuana in his vehicle following a traffic stop, said Sheriff Lane Carter.

Richard Eric Heaton, 29, of 6896 Old N.C. 13, is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana and driving while license revoked.

The arrest came after investigators on Nov. 20 conducted a traffic stop on a 1993 Ford F-150 driven by Heaton. The stop occurred on Plank Road near Robbins.

During the stop officers located approximately 75 grams of marijuana packaged in nine separate baggies.

Heaton's bond was set at $5,000 unsecured and his first court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 5, in Moore County district court.
