Sandra Rusak, director of education at the N.C, Museum of Art, led 150 people on a fantastic journey through five centuries of still life painting, comparing and contrasting styles from the Dutch Masters through the Impressionists.

Local Horticulture Society President Dolores Muller spearheaded the project, working closely with Katherine MacRae of the Moore County Arts Council.

Held at Owens Auditorium, the morning was entertaining and educational, replete with wonderful visuals and personal asides on the artists and the genre, whetting the taste of art and garden lovers alike for the new exhibit "Still Life Masterpieces, A Visual Feast from the Museum of Fine Arts Boston," which continues through January at the N.C Museum of Art.

The Weymouth Center for the Humanities, Sandhills Council of Garden Clubs and the museum also co-sponsored the event.
