Happy to Have Good Neighbors

After reading your article online regarding the Blackwells and model airplane fliers, I decided to write to state our support of the model airplane club.
We live directly across N.C. 73 from the property the club uses. The planes have never bothered us in any way. The noise is minimal, and the traffic is no problem. The club always follows the time schedule they told us they would in the beginning.
The land is well-kept and never looks littered. The members are never loud. In fact, we look forward to seeing the cars come by on flying days. We have been robbed seven times in the 41 years we have lived here, and feel the activity is good for our security.
Also in the 41 years we have lived here, we have been awakened by machine gun fire when the Army was maneuvering in our area, hunters before the land was posted, as well as coon dogs and motorcycle racers on our highway.
We love our rural area, and are glad to share it at this time with the fliers. They have invited our grandchildren over to watch and learn. As long as they remain good neighbors we are happy to have them enjoy the area.
