I have just returned from California and a friend told me that I had to read Gordon White’s column in The Pilot (“Republican Party Must Broaden Its Outlook,” Nov. 18).
I have just done so and wanted to say that it was outstanding. I could not agree with him more and can only hope that at least some of our locals here will come around (but I am not holding my breath).
I will look forward to seeing what kind of responses you get. Should be entertaining.

Don't hold your breath.
Why do I say that? Just read Conservatives Must Call Out the Liberals by Wes May. His Letter to the Editor in the Nov 25 Pilot shows you what the problem is. There are a lot of people in the area that are just like him.l
