Christmas is a time that evokes memories throughout the ages.
It is time filled with recollections of childhood excitement, smells of Grandma's kitchen, rooms filled with lights, decorations and presents.
On Saturday, Dec. 1, Moore County ECA will sponsor a room filled with beautifully decorated tables, smells of Christmas as well as the feeling of excitement as the season approaches. Each table will offer creative ideas for Christmas gatherings presented by talented hostesses, businesses and artists.
The Creative Christmas Table event will be held in a new location this year. The event will be held at the Chapel Hall at The Village Chapel in Pinehurst.
Hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost of admission is $5 per person, with proceeds being distributed to local charities throughout Moore County.
Patrons can find unique holiday and gift items such as Christmas ornaments, crafts and baked goods from the ECA Country Store.
Visitors may also purchase other gift offerings from local vendors, such as poinsettias, pottery, baskets, plants and jewelry. A silent auction will offer an assortment of merchandise donated by individuals and local merchants.
Raffle tickets are also available for $1 each. The raffle offers an opportunity to win gift certificates to local businesses and restaurants.
The Moore County Community and Extension Association (ECA) will join in celebrating 100 years of service with other ECA organizations across the state in 2013.
ECA began in the early 1900s as groups of women determined to meet the needs of citizens across the state.
