The Moore County Choral Society (MCCS), a 130-plus voice chorus of volunteer singers, celebrates the rich and varied heritage of choral music through outstanding live choral performances, and promotes and shares choral art through education and public outreach.
Established as a 501(c)3 organization in 1975, MCCS remains one of the state's longstanding choral groups and continues to gain prominence as a chorus of distinction and excellence. Now in its 38th season, MCCS offers a diverse membership from Moore, Hoke, Lee, Richmond and Scotland counties.
Maestra Anne Dorsey celebrates her ninth season as conductor and artistic director of the Choral Society.
The MCCS Ensemble has performed at several functions, including free community concerts at the Palustris Festivals in 2010 and 2011. This year, the MCCS Ensemble will perform at the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in downtown Southern Pines, Saturday, Nov. 24.
