Nativities from around the world will be on display during the sixth annual Nativity Luncheon to benefit the Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care, Wednesday, Dec. 5.
From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., guests can enjoy mimosas and -champagne while strolling through the nativity -collection and a new Christmas cookie jar -collection. A new nativity scene has been added to the collection this year.
Lunch will be served at noon.
The Nativity Luncheon will feature -special guest speaker Dr. John Dempsey, president of Sandhills Community College.
Seagrove artist Crystal King, of Crystal King Pottery, has created a nativity scene auction item.
The Nativity Luncheon event starts with a preview party Tuesday, Dec. 4, featuring guest speaker, Lauren Winner, a Duke Divinity School professor. The preview party, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., will include heavy hors d'oeuvres and wine.
Both the luncheon and preview party will be held at Belle Meade, at St. Joseph of the Pines, 100 Waters Drive, Southern Pines.
Tickets for the preview party are $50 each or $75 per couple. Luncheon tickets are $50. Call Susie Buchanan at (910) 246-3125 for tickets.
Sandhills/Moore Coalition for Human Care was established in 1986 by 12 area churches to better serve the emergency needs of Moore County residents in crisis. Today, more than 70 churches as well as businesses, individuals and civic groups throughout the community support the Coalition's mission "to provide emergency food, clothing and financial assistance and to coordinate with appropriate agencies for clients with ongoing needs."
