The 35-man Golf Capital Chorus raised a record $28,500 through program ads for its recent show at the Pinecrest High School auditorium, "A Salute to Those Who Served."

This 32nd annual event was attended by some 800 supporters, resulting in another $13,215. The record income will allow the chorus to provide $25,000 in grants to Moore County charities that serve the needs of children, from the Sandhills Children's Center to BackPack Pals.

This venerable, 32-year-old organization is always looking for new members.

A spokesperson stated, "If you are a male who likes to have fun, enjoys doing good deeds for the children in our communities, and would like to try singing with us, please come to our special open house on Monday night, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m., at Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst."

Call John Arnold, the GCC's membership chair, at (910) 295-7456 for information.

"The chorus also encourages visitors any Monday night, 7 to 9 p.m., at the church," says the spokesman.
