S.P. Resident Wins Weekly Football Contest
It was a pretty good week for the contestants in The Pilot football contest.
It was a really good week for Neil Brown of Southern Pines, Barry Miller of Southern Pines and Tony Grausso of Pinehurst. Those three prognosticators all went 14-2 for the week, which means, of course, the tiebreaker game comes into play.
The tiebreaker game was the Dallas versus Philadelphia battle, a game that the Dallas Cowboys won 38-23 for a total of 61 points.
Miller gets the big money, the $50 first-place check on the strength of his 53 points in the tiebreaker.
Brown had 45 for his tiebreaker number, so he gets the $30 second-place money.
That leaves Grausso, with 41 as his tiebreaker number, to claim the third-place check for $20.
In the overall battle, Jody Britt and David Weaver are holding on to first place, both with 109-51 marks.
Close behind is Stephanie Flores, who is standing at 108-52.
Kayla Britt is in third place with a 107-53 record.
