The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will be closing Page Road in Pinehurst between N.C. 211 and Memorial Drive for a weekend, starting Friday.
It is part of the N.C. 211 widening project, as a contractor will be installing a water line. The closure will be in effect from 8 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, weather permitting.
Businesses along Page Road will be accessible. But other motorists are being asked to avoid the area. An alternate route is Memorial Drive around FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch for the road closure signs, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
The $29.4 million N.C. 211 project, under way since last November, will widen the road to a four-lane highway divided by a grass median between West End and the Pinehurst Traffic Circle.
It is scheduled to be completed in spring 2014.
